Mount Norquay Kicks Off Its 100th Season on November 8th

Mt Norquay in Banff officially kicked off its 100th season on Saturday, November 8, welcoming skiers and riders back to Banff’s oldest resort for an early-season weekend full of sunshine, stoke, and celebration. With Cascade Chair and the Sundance Magic Carpet spinning, Norquay was buzzing from first chair to last lap.

A Century in the Making

Cascade was the place to be, with skiers and riders linking turns, cheering each other on, and enjoying the fresh corduroy. The terrain park crew built four early-season features, giving riders a fun warm-up for the season ahead. The base area buzzed with that unmistakable Mt. Norquay energy as locals reconnected, first-timers learned, and everyone celebrated another season of skiing where it all began.

The Season Ahead

Mt Norquay will pause operations from November 10 to 14 before reopening for daily operations starting November 15. Coming soon, the brand-new Stoney Magic Carpet will triple Norquay’s beginner terrain, creating even more space for new skiers and riders to learn. Later this season, guests can also look forward to the debut of the Norquay 100 Glades, a brand-new terrain expansion in the Mystic area. First Tracks on November 8th: What to Expect

The initial opening on November 8th and 9th will feature an exciting intro weekend for eager skiers and snowboarders. The Cascade and Sundance runs are expected to be open, offering great grooming and early season laps. For those who love park features, the Banff resort plans to have 4-6 available to enjoy.

Daily operations will commence the following weekend on November 15th, ensuring consistent access to the slopes throughout the season. The Cascade Lodge, Snow School, and Rentals will all be fully operational from the very first day, providing a seamless and cozy base for your Banff mountain adventure.
